During twenty centuries viticulture has been constantly refined in our regions to culminate in its present state. Today it is of high renown both in Germany and throughout the world of wine.

The ancient grapes Weingartmeisterei cultivates its wines from grow on soils of marl, pebbles and clay on sun drenched slopes in a mild and very special micro climate.

Following harvest and fermentation the young wines come under the loving care of our cellarer. Months later they emerge in sophisticated refinery and grown to full maturity.

Highest international awards pay homage to the supreme quality of our wines.

MAULBRONN MONASTERY – AT THE VERY ROOTS OF VITICULTURE

Founded in 1147 by monks from Burgundy introduction of viticulture was the main objective of the Cistercians. In the those days they held exclusive knowledge to grape growing and winemaking.

It were the Romans who brought to our region the art of cultivating and making wine, carrying with them vinestocks from Italy.
Mild climates, altitudes around 400m, and colourful marl, pebbles, and stucco sandstone soils provided supreme conditions for this endeavour – not unlike those in their homeland.
